How to Have Young and Healthy Eyes

The human eye is a spherical structure of about 2.5 cm in diameter. It is a light sensitive organ we use in seeing. In order to see clearly, we must have healthy eyes. You can tell if your eyes are in good health if until now you are not using glasses or contact lens and still have that normal 20/20 vision. In addition, you haven't experienced any eye defects or disorders like near sightedness and astigmatism. These are just some of the signs of healthy eyes that you must be aware of.

Nobody wants to have problems seeing. If you want to have a clear vision even during old age, you should know the tips for healthy eyes. Below are some useful practices that you can apply in your daily life:

o Wear sunglasses - Mind you, wearing sunglasses is not just for fashion's sake but also for protecting your eyes. When you are always outdoors, your eyes are exposed to the sun's harmful UV rays. You must protect your eyes by wearing sunglasses.

o Don't rub your eyes - There are times when something irritates our eyes and on instinct we how to get a better vision naturally immediately rub them. You must avoid this bad habit. We can never guarantee that our hands are clean. You may have dirt or bacteria in them which can infect the eyes.

o Eat foods rich in vitamin A - Vitamin A is famous for helping human beings have clear vision and glowing eyes. You should eat fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin A like carrots, mangoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and spinach.

o Have good reading habits - If you love to read, then you should know when to do so without harming your eyes. Never read while you are walking or riding a vehicle. Do not use dim light in reading. Avoid lying on your bed when you read or you will get dizzy due to postural problems. Make sure that the text you are reading are large and clear enough.

o Rest your eyes - Just like other parts of the body, the eyes need rest too. Do not force yourself to stay awake when you are already too sleepy. Remove all eye makeup before going to bed and if you want, you may put tea bags or cucumber slices on your eyes to remove eye bags.

Keep your eyes young and healthy with the tips presented above. If you experience serious eye problems, you should see your doctor before taking any medication.
